Featuring some of the genre’s greatest stars—Boss of the Blues Big Joe Turner, the great Texas piano man Amos Milburn, jazz-informed blues shouter Jimmy Witherspoon, New Orleans keyboard king Champion Jack Dupree, it’s a non-stop Christmas ball.
Featuring many never before available on LP rarities, the tinsel-draped repertoire includes the mother of all Yuletide blues, Charles Brown with Johnny Moore’s Blazers’ original “Merry Christmas Baby,” takes wing with fantastic vocal ensembles the Ravens and Orioles and even rocks straight into New Year’s Eve with choice cuts from Johnny Otis, Roy Milton and Lonnie Johnson.
