Acclaimed Greek avant-pop artist Lia Hide returns with her boldest work to date, ARISTOPHOBIA NERVOSA. Known for her fusion of dark pop, experimental soundscapes, and
cinematic storytelling, Hide now delivers her first full-length album entirely in Greek, marking a pivotal new chapter in her career.
Across ten tracks, ARISTOPHOBIA NERVOSA explores themes of alienation, societal pressure, and personal survival with striking honesty and irony. The title — a provocative wordplay combining the Greek “Aristos” (“excellent, distinguished”) with “phobia” and the clinical “nervosa” — reflects the album’s critique of elitism, expectation, and the neuroses of modern life.
Produced, written, and arranged by Hide herself, the album showcases her trademark blend of genres: avant-pop, dark pop, post-punk, jazz inflections, glitch textures, and spoken word. At once personal and political, intimate and theatrical, ARISTOPHOBIA NERVOSA tells the story of a woman navigating a hostile reality, scars visible, refusing silence.
